Avon Band is 2nd in the Nation!
The Marching Black and Gold ending their marching season on a high note by winning the Outstanding Visual Award in the BOA Grand National Finals Competition and by placing second overall! Earlier in the day the band received the Outstanding Visual Award in Class AAA and placed second, earning them a chance to compete in finals. BOA Indianapolis Regional Championship
In the preliminary round of the BOA Indy Regional, the Avon band won awards for Outstanding Music Performance and Outstanding General Effect in Class AAA and were named Class AAA Champions, advancing the group to the finals competition in the evening. Avon performed their best show yet winning the Outstanding Music award, but were overtaken by Carmel HS by a slight margin. MSBA Centerville (OH) Competition
The Marching Black and Gold traveled to Centerville High School (Ohio) to compete in the Mid-States Bands Association Competition. In the preliminary round, Avon won all captions (Music, Visual, General Effect, Percussion, Auxiliary) and placed first in Open Class. In finals competition, Avon won all captions and was named the Grand Champion! Congrats to all particpating bands! |

2007 ISSMA State Finals
The 2007 ISSMA State Finals Marching Band Competition proved to be an amazing evening filled with ten outstanding performances by ten outstanding bands across the state. The Marching Black and Gold gave a great performance in the RCA Dome and won their 7th consecutive State Championship! Congratulations to all State Finalists on a fantastic finals field!

Homestead Fall Festival of Bands
The Avon Band traveled to Ft.Wayne, Indiana to compete in the annual Homestead Fall Festival of Bands Competition. The band was in the middle of visual warmup when it was announced that the competition had to be canceled due to extreme heat and people being taken away by ambulances. The kids were anxious to compete, but everyone was very understanding about the conditions.

The 2007 Meijer Avon Marching Band Invitational saw 24 outstanding performances from Classes D, C, B, and A as well as an exhibition performance by the Avon Marching Black and Gold. Congratulations to all participating bands and thanks to all those who came out to support the kids!Later in the evening, the Avon Band traveled to Greenwood, Indiana for the Greenwood Invitational where Avon took top honors in Music, Visual, General Effect, and Colorguard and placed 1st in Class 'A'. |

The show was held in the high school gymnasium due to all the rain during the day. The scores below reflect a perfect score to all bands in the visual categories due to no one actually performing on the field. |

The Avon High School Band program consists of: The Marching Black & Gold, 2 Winterguard units, 2 Winter Drumline units, Jazz band and 3 concert bands.
